Malala Yousafzai Day

Malala Yousafzai, the girl who campaigned for girls' education who had been shot by the Taliban, spoke to the United Nations Youth Assembly. In her speech, she wanted to claim education for everyone.

She said the power of the voice of women frightens terrorists, because they are afraid of equality. She also spoke about Islam as a religion of peace, humanity and brotherhood. She focussed on the right of women to fight for their rights.

Here you can listen to her full speech, that she ended with these words: "One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education first. Thank you."

July 12th, her birthday, will from now on always be Malala Yousafzai Day, a day devoted to the right to education for all.
